Exercise EW25: Push-Ups

Beginners use exercise EW17.

Goal: Strengthening of arms, chest and abs

Parameters: Frequency: 25-30 Hz / Position: 1.5-2.5 / Duration: 20-60 seconds

Procedure: Traditional push-up posture with hands on the Galileo plate. Push-ups are a great combination exercise not only for arms and shoulder but also for the abs. Beginners should start with a static exercise where they flex the arms as much as possible. Make sure your upper body and your legs are one straight line.

Repetitions: Repeat exercise 2-3 times with a pause of 1-3 minutes in-between.

Variation: Advance users can add very slow dynamics: Flex your arms as much as possible without touching the plate, then slowly extend the arms (but never reach full extension!). In addition, you can extend the distance of the hands.

Tip 1: Beginners place their hands next to each other with the thumbs and the index-fingers touching each other under tension, otherwise the exercise is too intensive. Advance users can increase duration, frequency, add dynamics (but never fully extend the arms!) and increase the distance between the hands. If needed (if wrists feel uncomfortable) use a piece of a Yoga mat underneath the hands.

Tip 2: Should the extension of the wrist be to uncomfortable you can also use a sucking handle (sucking bathroom handles/grips) and mount it on the platform. This way you can hold on to the handle without extension of the wrist.
