Exercise EW8: calf training two-legged

Advanced users use exercise W9

Goal: Strengthening of the calf muscle – for beginners

Parameters: Frequency: 26-33 Hz / Position: 3-4 / Duration: 1 minute

Procedure:
Posture: Upright standing on the Galileo. Only load your forefeet, rise the heels at least 1 cm off the platform (no heel contact!)
Movement: Slowly further lift and lower the heels (3 seconds up, 3 seconds down but without heel contact). Goal of the exercise is to completely exhaust the calf muscles.
Repetitions: Repeat exercise 2-3 times with a pause of 1-3 minutes in-between.

Variation: Beginners can also stay in the static starting posture, without the movement.

Tip 1: For better balance the fingertips can touch the handrail, but they should not carry any load.

Tip 2: If the heel is lifted to high the foot might start to slide. In this case do not rise the heel that much to avoid sliding.
