Galileo Research Facts No. 23: Is oxygen uptake during Galileo Training independent from frequency and Amplitude?

Also for oxygen uptake the additional effects of higher frequency are more prominent than those of higher amplitudes (#GRFS21, #GRFS22). This is also one of the main reasons why exhausting training to increase muscle mass and muscle power (#GRFS35, #GRFS19)), as well as endurance capacity (#GRFS11, #GRFS86) should be performed at as high as possible frequencies (#GIS1) – therefore it’s usually more effective to increase frequency first before increasing amplitude.

However – it does not make sense to increase the frequency too much, because with increasing frequency recruitment (so the percentage of possibly activated motoric units and muscle fibers of the muscle) – because once 100% activation is achieved, increasing frequencies do not really make much sense any more. For this reason Galileo Fitness devices offer a maximum frequency of 36Hz and the Galileo Pro – the Galileo designed for athletes a maximum frequency of 40Hz.
