Side effects

At the beginning of the training phase

Especially at the beginning of the training sessions, the user should be consulted at regular intervals (e.g. in the first two weeks after each training session) about his or her personal perception of the training progress in order to optimally adjust the training individually and to avoid the following side effects:

  • Nausea and dizziness due to rapid, short-term drop in blood pressure
  • Rapid hypoglycaemia in diabetes due to high muscle activity
  • Itching in the treated body regions (especially in the calves or on the torso) due to high blood circulation/muscle work
  • Blistering at contact points to the training platform

The side effects nausea, dizziness, drop in blood pressure and itching are usually harmless. They are signs of too high training intensity or too long training duration. They can be avoided by regular applications with a correspondingly slow increase in intensity in terms of duration and amplitude (foot position).

BLOOD CIRCULATION AND THE CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM

Galileo Training causes increased muscle work, especially in the lower extremities, so that the blood flow into the lower extremities is increased. This can cause a brief drop in blood pressure and dizziness during or shortly after the use of Galileo Training in sensitive users. Especially in elderly users or users with known hypotension (low blood pressure), special attention should be paid to the possibility of dizziness and drop in blood pressure to avoid falls due to dizziness. The occurrence of dizziness should not be taken as a contraindication, but rather as a sign of a low fitness level. A slow, adapted increase in intensity and duration provides relief.

OPTIONAL WARM-UP FOR CARDIOVASCULAR TRAINING

To warm up and better preparation for the Galileo Training, especially older users or hypotonics (low blood pressure) can warm up on a bicycle ergometer or rowing machine directly before the Galileo Training.

DIABETICS

Diabetics may experience rapid hypoglycaemia, especially during and after long, strenuous exercise sessions. Therefore, always have enough glucose with you!

BLISTERS AND CALLUSES

Skin injuries such as blisters or sores on the soles of the feet are avoided by wearing (dry) socks, thin gym shoes or sports shoes. Please also note that users should not wear sturdy, coarse footwear, otherwise the training effect may be affected and the training platform may become dirty or scratched.
